Our Rhode Island Electrologists offer the most advanced electrolysis treatments available in the field of permanent hair removal. We can remove hair on all body areas at an affordable price. Take a look and see if electrolysis is for you.

Electrolysis is the process of permanently removing unwanted hair from the body by destroying the hair growth cells with a very small amount of electrical current. This method was pioneered in the late 1800's and has been used effectively for over 130 years to permanently remove unwanted hair. To complete this process, a very fine probe is inserted into the opening of the hair follicle and a mild electrical current is applied at the base of that hair follicle. The hair is then gently removed. This process disables the hair follicle and results in the permanent elimination of the hair.

Electrolysis is an effective method for permanently treating hair growth on all body areas and it is effective on all hair types and colors. Electrolysis also offers a cost effective method to remove hairs that are sparsely spread over a broad area. And we offer you the latest in technology with the use of computer controlled epilators!

ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is electrolysis painful?

In most cases, the apprehension is far worse than any discomfort which might result from a treatment. A skilled electrologist is able to insert the probe into a hair follicle with virtually no sensation to the client. The mild electrical current that follows feels like a small pinch. Most clients that have tweezed or waxed hairs in the past happily report that electrolysis is more comfortable than these temporary methods.

Is electrolysis permanent?

Yes. We have successfully treated thousands of clients for permanent hair removal using electrolysis. If the treatment schedule suggested at the initial consultation is followed, electrolysis will produce permanent results.

How long does it take to complete treatment?

The answer to this question varies for each individual since there are a number of factors to consider. The following are important considerations:

• What is the underlying cause of the unwanted hair growth?

– Ethnic background/heredity

– Side effect of medication

– Normal aging process

– Glandular/hormonal imbalance

– Pregnancy

• How many hair follicles require treatment and how advanced are the hairs in their growth process?

• What temporary hair removal methods have been used?

During the initial consultation, we consider these and other factors in working with our clients to develop a practical and realistic treatment schedule which reflects the needs of each individual.

Is electrolysis safe?

Absolutely! Once the hairs are permanently removed, there are no signs that electrolysis has been performed. The skin is left feeling smoother and softer. We also take great care in providing a safe working environment. We follow the Infection Control Standards issued by the American Electrology Association and the Rhode Island Department of Health. The following standards are a few examples of the numerous steps we take to protect all of our clients:

• Pre-sterilized disposable needles which are individually packaged.

• Disposable examination gloves

• Disposable paper draperies

• Sterilize tweezers in autoclave

• Disinfect all equipment and surfaces between clients with germicidal wipes

Is it expensive?

When considered against a lifetime of cost for temporary methods, the answer is absolutely not! We strive to give our clients the best treatments available at an affordable price. Our fees vary based on treatment time. Call for a free consultation and we will be happy to discuss a treatment and fee schedule that works for you.
