One of the biggest questions that we get asked upon meeting new clients is “How many laser treatments do I need to get rid of my hair?”. The answer can be pretty simple. Assuming that the client is a good candidate for laser hair removal, most area’s are completed in an average of 6 treatments. Incredibly, some clients can even achieve their goal in as little as 4 to 5 treatments. And on rare occasions, clients could possibly even need an additional 1 or 2 treatments, especially if the hair growth tends to be fine and located on the facial area.
The next question now becomes, “What makes a client a good candidate for laser hair removal?”. One of the first factors that we evaluate during the consultation is the color and texture of the clients hair growth. In order to acheive effective results, the hair should contain sufficient amounts of black or brown pigment and should be somewhat coarse. (Laser hair removal is not effective on hair growth that lacks dark pigment such as blond, white, or grey.) Second, the quantity of hair should also be considered upon evaluation. Coarser and more numerous hair growth usually means quicker results. Finally, the color of the clients skin would also be assessed when determining the average amount of treatments. Treating people of color is now possible due to our advanced laser technology. However, because of the increased melanin in the skin and the adjustments that must be made to protect the darker skin, a few additional treatments may be required.
